Short Story

Brendon sat in the studio, strumming his beautiful pine acoustic guitar lightly. "I can't think of anything, Spence." He said, head buried in his hands, dark chunks of his hair falling over his hands. They had just lost half the members of their band, Panic! At The Disco, and had trouble writing songs. "Maybe we need some more people, Brendon. We can't make an album with just the two of us." Spencer replied. He flipped his drumsticks around in his fingers, placed them back on the drums, and walked over to Brendon. "I can play guitar, and sing, and you can play drums and sing a little. That's all we need, right?" Brendon said, looking up. "Well, I guess so, but we kind of need a bass player. It won't be the same without Jon, I know, but we still need one. Plus it's almost impossible to sing while playing the drums." Spencer suggested. "You're right. There is no way that Jon and Ryan will re-join. But we still need someone. I'll try to find a way to get one. "Brendon said, rousing himself from his place on the couch and getting his cherry red laptop.  He put an open request up for a bassist on Craigslist. "Now we wait..." Spencer said.

About an hour later, they got a reply.
My name is Dallon, and I am applying for the position of bassist. I have been playing in a local band, The Brobecks, for a few years now, and it really hasn't been taking the path I want it to. I love the style of music you do, and I would be honored to play with you. If you need a guitarist too, my friend Ian Crawford is pretty legit. We hope you like us as much as we like you guys.
Please respond soon,
Dallon J. Weekes.
"No way, Spence, Come look at this." Brendon said, gesturing him over to the computer. Spencer's blue eyes darted across the screen, and his jaw dropped. "THE Dallon Weekes wants to join our band! Are you sure this is real?" "Almost positive," Brendon said, replying to the message. "This is amazing; someone would leave their OWN band for ours." Spencer said joyously. They all waited on Dallon's arrival, of which they had agreed on in a reply email.

A few hours later, there was a knock at the door. "Come in!" Brendon said. Two men walked in, carrying guitar and bass cases. One that was tall with dark brown hair and green eyes, and another that was a little shorter than the first, with curly brown hair and eyes. "Hello! I'm Dallon, and this is Ian." The first man said, shaking Brendon's hand.  "That's the real Dallon!" Spencer whispered in Brendon's ear. "Pleased to meet you. Can I see you play?" Brendon said to them, gesturing to their instruments. "Well, how else do you expect to see how we are?" Dallon replied smartly Dallon pulled out a gorgeous soda pop orange bass, with silver detailing and beautiful, shiny silver strings. Ian pulled out a gorgeous pine acoustic guitar, with a beautiful ring of triangle designs around the sound hole. "Nice instruments!" Spencer said, sitting on the couch next to Brendon. Dallon plugged in an amp, and played a complex set of notes, chiming out a low melody that made the whole room shake. Brendon was impressed. Ian started playing Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles, and it rang out of the strings in beautiful harmony. It was absolutely perfect, every note combining to play the song beautifully. "Okay, okay, you got it! That was so beautiful!" Brendon said, laughing and hugging Dallon. Ian looked down sadly. I didn't get it, Ian thought, packing his guitar up and leaving.  "You too, man! You especially!" Spencer said, stopping and hugging Ian. They all celebrated the rebirth of their band, and they learned more about each other, like how Ian had a passion for cheese balls and all food in general, and how Dallon  was funny and loved to draw super heroes. "I'm so glad that the band didn't have to go away," Brendon said, watching Looney Toons with Dallon and Ian while Spencer made popcorn. "I'm glad you let me join." Dallon said. Later that week, they wrote songs with much ease, with more ideas flowing than before.  They went touring, and still had the same fun as when Ryan and Jon were in the band. They eventually created a new album, and Ian left, but Dallon stayed. The album was entitled Vices and Virtues, and it was a collection of songs that they felt brought about the transition between the last album and the current one. To this day, they still make music together.
I am back! This is technically a sequel to Viva La Vita. I wrote this as a project for English in 15 minutes, editing and all. Seriously. Was that fast. I'm proud of myself.

I am now going to be backing up all my essays on here! Hope you likey!

The prompt was "Write a story about a friendship problem that gets solved with teamwork" and of course, I wanted to write a fic!
